2011 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Overview: BRGY. GINEBRA KINGS

This was Rudy Hatfield when he was in his "Triple H" mode.

This is what Nate Brumfield looks like.

He is in a bruiser mold and he seems more than solid to play in the league as a power forward. I think his wide frame can help the Barangay since they are in need of a scoring frontliner more than ever.

PREDICTION:

Expect the Kings to score big in the Commish Cup. They have the tools to win but they need to be healthy. Helterbrand, Cortez, Menk, Yancy, and Villanueva aren’t the superstars they were three or four years ago. The bad thing about having too many stars in one team is that some of them became role players. Mark Caguioa suffered career rebirth but once he struggles, Willie Miller will be waiting in the wings. Injury is another issue for the Kings.

The Kings will seriously defend on Brumfield in terms of leadership, scoring, defending, and rebounding. He was a Player of the Year for the NAIA and it seems he is capable of leading the Gins to the Promise Land.

Let’s give the Kings the ONE up to THREE spots!

Game over.
