2011 WWE DRAFT – THE REVIEW

What was once a sought after spectacle is now nothing more than a mere nonsensical event? I mean, back in the early 2000’s, the draft actually mattered. However, with a thin roster filled with rookies and forever midcarders, the need to get all the stars in both shows was something the company needs. Sure, it diminishes the rise of new players but what can they do right?

Do you think the world needs a Heath Slater versus Mark Henry main event now?

Right...

Draft starts now!

PRIMARY DRAFT

#1 SMACKDOWN SELECTS JOHN CENA
This pick had shock value but it’s stupid to put the poster boy on the B-Show. Cena is too valuable to be on Smackdown.

#2 RAW ACQUIRES REY MYSTERIO
Hey, with Cena in the blue brand, Mysterio can switch sides. They need to use Mysterio better though. The last time he was on Raw, he was booked worse than his first heavyweight title. Mysterio and the word “heavyweight”... hmm...

#3 SMACKDOWN SELECTS RANDY ORTON
This was a shocker and yet it needs to happen. Aside from the fact that Orton will get new feuds on the blue brand, it will be his time to claim top-tier status as a face. For months he has taken the backseat to Cena. This can be a baby version of when Austin was on Raw and The Rock was on Smackdown. But who am I kidding... Orton is with Cena again on Smackdown! By the way, Orton’s entry just made the draft predictable.

#4 SMACKDOWN SELECTS MARK HENRY
I was hoping Daniel Bryan would move. Wait. Whenever Mark Henry moves... Mark Henry’s attitude changes so does this mean he’ll be a heel again?

#5 SMACKDOWN SELECTS SIN CARA
Sin Cara doesn’t talk so I don’t know how this trade will play out. However, in terms of wrestling time, the new guy will have a field day on Smackdown.

#6 RAW ACQUIRES THE BIG SHOW
Is Bragging Rights on already? With Show and Kane owning the tag team belts they can pretty go to any show they want. Hopefully Big Show won’t just become a top-tier jobber.

#7 RAW ACQUIRES ALBERTO DEL RIO
Vince is in love with ADR right now. He is a hate magnet and he is a good worker. But with Miz in the same show... I dunno... one will fall I think.

#8 RAW ACQUIRES JOHN CENA
See? What did I tell you? Raw can have Cena and Orton but Raw can’t afford to lose both stars to Smackdown. When Smackdown drafted Orton... Cena’s return to Raw was pretty much a giveaway.

The Supplemental Draft will happen tomorrow.

Game over!
